There are already several hormone-free, gel-based products (aqueous preparations) available to alleviate discomfort due to vaginal dryness. For many women, however, these lack the soothing and skin-caring components; they would therefore rather use a cream. The creams available up to now in Germany require a prescription and contain oestrogen (female hormones).
All women with vaginal dryness who cannot or do not want to apply local oestrogen can use Vagisan Moisturising Cream with the dual effect: it provides the skin in the vagina and the external genital area with moisture AND soothing lipids. Vagisan Moisturising Cream makes the sensitive vaginal skin pleasantly supple – without the use of hormones.
Characteristics of Vagisan Moisturising Cream
The first hormone-free cream for vaginal dryness in Germany
Unlike an aqueous preparation (gel), Vagisan Moisturising Cream is a cream. In addition to a high water content, creams also have a soothing lipid component.
Vagisan Moisturising Cream can be used inside the vagina (with an applicator) and on the external genital area.
The smooth, white cream is free of hormones (oestrogen) and can therefore also be used together with hormone replacement therapy or be alternated with vaginal creams or pessaries containing hormones (oestrogen). Lactic acid is added in small amounts to adjust the pH level of the cream to 4.5, so that Vagisan Moisturising Cream helps maintain the vagina’s natural acidity (pH).
The regular use of Vagisan Moisturising Cream can help prevent irritation and inflammation due to dryness in the vagina and in the external genital area.
The cream can also be used for vaginal dryness before sexual intercourse, in principle with latex condoms. As the cream does not affect sperm motility, it can also be used while trying to conceive.
